Simple mental health issues can often spell trouble for relationships - but they don't have to

Whether diagnosed or undiagnosed, syptoms of depression, anxiety, Bi-polar and Autistic Spectrum Conditions are very tough on the sufferer as well as on those who love them. It would be misleading to suggest that a magic cure for these relationship strains exists but, equally, the idea that things cannot be improved or better managed is generally untrue.

Specialist couples therapy can make a difference. It focuses on the impact and management of diagnosed or undiagnosed mental health issues and is now available with therapists experienced in the field of Bi-polar, Asperger's Syndrome and various compulsive behaviours including OCD and chronic depression.

The Relationship Works can engage specialists in the field of mental health and this may take a little while to co-ordinate so please do get in touch to start the process. The cost of an external specialist usually remains about the same but runs typically for a much briefer period. CBT can also be used for a one off session for one partner, within the more traditional two partner couples counselling process..
